Katrina L Wilson-Ross, CEO/President

Katrina has over (25) years of leadership experience and training in all lines of commercial insurance. Her area of expertise consists of risk management plan development, surety bond educational programs and loss control/claim management. Katrina was a founding member and partner in Vantage Risk Management insurance agency, where she was an owner and partner responsible for strategic planning and client development.  Building productive partnerships and maintaining long term relationships by developing custom solutions and creating valued customer experiences by advising best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies.

Mrs. Wilson-Ross holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Touro College and Master of Science certificate from University of Florida. She has an ERIS (Energy Risk and Insurance Specialist) designation and the Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist designations. Katrina is a licensed, Insurance Adjuster, Life, Health and Annuities, Property and Casualty Consultant/Agent. Currently pursing associate Risk Management certification.

Herman L. Ross II, COO

Herman is recognized as one of the hardest working entrepreneurs in insurance and risk management. He attended John Muir High School in Pasadena, and Santa Barbara City College. He became a licensed agent in 1982, and over the years, has worked on both sides of the insurance fence after beginning his career at Hartford Insurance Group.

Herman was formerly the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Advisor to the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), and had a seat on its Board. He was instrumental in the writing of the rules and regulations that apply to federally funded, street, highway, and airport programs; testifying many times on behalf of minority business owners. In addition, he was invited to speak at the Congressional Black Caucus and Transportation Brain Trust and also provides guidance to small business owners throughout the country.  He holds Property, Casualty, Surety, Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

James Hart, Senior Vice President

James Hart, attended Blair High School, Pasadena City College and USC majoring in Business Administration with an option in Business Operations.  In 1996 Mr. Hart was asked to join National Insurance Consultants Inc. as a Business Development Consultant and Licensed Life & Health/Property & Casualty Agent. 

When Mr. Hart was in the Account Executive position he considered it to be perhaps the fundamental foundation for N.I.C.I. and its clients, discussing and consulting on insurance coverage and risk management products and methods, presenting clients with proposals, reviewing and consulting with clients on renewals and adjustments with regards to their insurance needs.



Ashton Hopkins, Director of Operations

Ashton is a licensed Property and Casualty, Health, Life and Disability Broker in Nevada, he has also been licensed in Massachusetts and Texas so he has worked in the industry all over the country. Ashton’s responsibilities include renewal analysis, RFP development, assisting in claims and billing resolution and open enrollment. He has the deep knowledge and credentials to guide clients through the ever changing landscape of the insurance market.

He is currently studying to be certified as a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist and is finishing up his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Studies in Business Administration at Southern New Hampshire University.

Kevin Simkins, Account Executive

After his release from active duty with the United States Marine Corps, Kevin entered the Insurance business going to work for the family business. Kevin’s role as Account Executive includes managing existing client relationships, supporting business development, evaluating policies and procedures, and keeping abreast of the changing market.  Kevin specializes in Employee Benefits and all lines of Commercial Insurance with a focus on OCIP, Surety Bonds, Liability, Workers Compensation, and Commercial Automobile policies. He is particularly sensitive to the clients need for ongoing communication and service. Kevin draws on his vast experience in his day to day operations in service and sales to equip his commercial clients with the best coverage and optional pricing.

Kevin earned his Associate Degree from Northern Virginia Community College with a major in Business. He is currently pursuing the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist Designation.
